1. What is included in the Air Wick® Freshmatic® Starter Kits?

There are two starter kits available: the first includes the Air Wick® Freshmatic® Ultra device, an aerosol refill, and two AA/LR6 batteries, together with instructions. The second includes an Air Wick® Freshmatic® Ultra device, and two AA/LR6 batteries only.

2. What is the difference between the decorative and white gadgets?

Both devices give the same fragrance performance with Air Wick® Freshmatic® refills. The different decorative finishes offer a choice to allow you to select the right gadget to blend with the décor of your home.

3. What's the benefit of Air Wick® Freshmatic® Ultra Automatic Spray over other air fresheners?

Air Wick® Freshmatic® Max automatically delivers regular and consistent bursts of fragrance throughout the day, so you have the reassurance of your home always smelling great. Also, because each spray is a controlled dose, you get the same level of fragrance from the beginning of the refill to the end.

4. There is a red arm mechanism that is preventing me from inserting my fragrance refill. What should I do?

In order to reposition the red arm mechanism and insert your fragrance refill, TURN THE DEVICE OFF, then raise the red arm up to its fullest extent by rotating it clockwise. You can now insert your fragrance refill can and start the device.

5. What is the proper way to insert the refill?

Keeping the unit directed away from your face at all times, switch the unit to "off" before attempting to insert the refill. To open the gadget, depress the button on the top and pull the front cover forward. Insert the refill can. The nozzle should be facing toward the front of the gadget. When the gadget is closed you should see the black nozzle orifice through the hole where the spray comes through the gadget. Close the unit, point away from your face and then select the desired level of fragrance. The 1st spray will come after a 15-second delay.

6. Can you adjust the fragrance level?

Air Wick® Freshmatic® products have three time interval settings allowing you to have control over the fragrance level. By setting the device to the three flower settings, you can move from a subtle to increasingly intense fragrance experience.

7. What do the flowers above the switch mean?

The flowers mark the switch setting positions. The larger, and higher, the flower, the more intense the fragrance experience.

  • Large Flower: Intense experience for maximum enjoyment.
  • Middle Flower: Medium intensity.
  • Small Flower: Subtle experience for gentle fragrance.
  • Dot: Off

If your device flashes a red light during use, please call Consumer Relations at 1-800-542-1300 and someone will assist you in troubleshooting the issue.

15. Why is my Freshmatic® not spraying any fragrance?

Make sure the device has been turned off. First, check to be sure the nozzle is facing the correct direction. When the device is closed, you should see the black nozzle tip of the fragrance refill can through the opening in the front of the unit If you cannot see the black nozzle tip, you may have incorrectly placed the fragrance refill can into the device with the black nozzle facing backwards. Next, check to be sure that the red arm mechanism is in the raised position. If the red arm is not fully raised you may not be able to insert the refill fully or close the front cover of the device. The red arm is located in the opening where the nozzle of the can should rest. If the red arm is blocking the opening raise it up to its fullest extent by rotating the arm clockwise then push the refill back into the device as far as it will go. Then check if the refill can is empty by removing it from the device. With the nozzle directed away from your face press down on the square pad on top of the nozzle twice. If no spray is emitted replace the refill.

Re-insert the refill, close the front cover, and select the desired operating setting. The device should spray after 15 seconds. If the device does not spray after 15 seconds, replace the batteries.

If your device does not spray repeatedly with a full Air Wick® refill and fresh batteries please call the customer service helpline on 1-800-542-1300 for more information.

16. The lights on my new device are not flashing. Is the device broken?
